Subway Surfers game reached 25.3 million downloads, up 40.8% compared to September 2021. China is the game’s largest market, contributing 23% of downloads, followed by India with 15.5%. Below is a ranking of the top most downloaded games in the world today. Note downloads are only counted on the App Store and Google Play, excluding third-party Android marketplaces.
Subway Surfers is an “endless runner” game co-developed by Kiloo and SYBO Games, private companies based in Denmark. The game is available on Android, iOS, HarmonyOS, Kindle and Windows Phone platforms and uses the Unity game engine. In the game, the player will play the role of a young graffiti artist at a subway train location. Gamers have to run across the tracks to hide from the inspector and the sniffer dog.
Stumble Guys is the second obstacle battle royale game from Kitka Games with 19.3 million downloads, 7.4 times more than the same period last year. The US is the biggest market for the game, contributing 13.1% of downloads, followed by Indonesia with 11.1%. The other three games in the top 5 are Garena Free Fire, Gametion’s Ludo King and Supersonic’s Bridge Race.
In September 2022, global mobile games were downloaded 4.2 billion times on the App Store and Google Play, down 1.2% from the same period last year. The Indian market ranked first with 763 million downloads, accounting for 18.2% of the total global downloads. The second is the Brazilian market with 8.8% downloads and the third is the US market, accounting for 7.9%.
