Ubisoft’s new Assassin’s Creed Rift project is said to be facing ‘new development challenges’.
While Ubisoft only had some lackluster news today, there’s been some good news for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series. It seems many games are in development, more than previously reported, and one of them is Assassin’s Creed Red with an Asian setting. This project is said to be part of the Infinity project, and while nothing has been confirmed it could be specifically set up in Japan.
Recent reports indicate that Ubisoft has a lot of expectations for Assassin’s Creed in the future, but perhaps one of its most intriguing projects is Assassin’s Creed Rift. First reported by Bloomberg, it was previously believed to be an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansion that Ubisoft later turned into a full-fledged game. It was supposed to be smaller in scale, focused on the stealth genre, featuring Basim and set in Baghdad.
Unfortunately, it seems that things are not going so well with Assassin’s Creed Rift. Ubisoft is said to have decided to make its own title instead of an expansion to fill a hole in Ubisoft’s release schedule, which is why the game is so small. But according to Kotaku, the game is small, but “is facing new challenges despite rushing to complete it”.
It looks like there have been some issues, but Kotaku’s sources don’t say anything more related to the issues Ubisoft is having. Either way, hopefully the development cycle can stay on track and Ubisoft is better prepared for the release.
Basim is one of the most popular characters in the Assassin’s Creed series to date thanks to his heartbreaking and compelling storyline in Valhalla. It’s clear he’ll have a bright future, perhaps in Assassin’s Creed Infinity, but exploring the character’s background before Valhalla is also intriguing. Fans of classic AC games and even Valhalla will likely be intrigued by Assassin’s Creed Rift when the title comes out, so it’s probably more important right now than Project Infinity.
We still have to wait and see what Assassin’s Creed Rift will bring, but perhaps the gaming community will know more soon because Ubisoft has planned a “future of Assassin’s Creed” event in September. Upcoming. While it’s also possible that Ubisoft will reveal its titles in the planned Ubisoft Forward at a later date, either way, Assassin’s Creed Infinity and Assassin’s Creed Rift will most likely have it. present at one of those two events.
