New manga called Daikaijū Gertima focuses on a port town that has suffered a disaster while growing thanks to kaijū
Kodoani.com – The May issue of Kodansha’s Young Monthly Magazine revealed on Thursday that manga creator KENT will launch a new manga titled Daikayu Gertima in the magazine’s July issue on June 20.
In the manga’s story, one day, a giant monster (kaijū) suddenly appeared from the sea along with a huge wave in the port town of Sukuba, causing a disaster. However, the monster later dissolved into the ocean, becoming a rich source of nutrition for marine life in the area. As a result, Sukuba’s economy thrived. The monster began to be called Gertima, the god of crops. 10 years later, a monster reappears in town.
KENT launched the COLORLESS manga on LEED Publishing’s Comic Border website in January 2019 and ended it in November 2022. LEED Publishing published the manga’s seventh and final volume on February 20.
