It’s been quite a while, the audience easily realized that the end of My Hero Academia appeared a lot of new Quiz.
The series’ strongest villain, All For One, reappears with numerous Quirks and these abilities have also been seen in the Nomu bioweapon, which is passed on to other villains such as Shigaraki and Spinner.
Fortunately for the Heroes, Deku has also been equipped with more Quirks. These are the Quirks that have been developed within the supreme One For All he possesses, passed down from previous users.
However, the final Quiz in this Anime series has been a mystery for a long time, leaving viewers to theorize about what it might have been.
However, as it was eventually revealed, this could be the strongest Quirk that All Might’s student of the Peace Symbol had.
How it works
Deku’s ultimate superpower is called Gearshift. It is a Quirk that is activated through physical contact.
It allows users to change the velocity of anything they touch, meaning they can naturally slow down or speed things up.
Originally, this Quirk could only work on smaller objects, but due to the power stored in One For All, it is now powerful enough to be used on others or even the user himself.
During his fight with Shigaraki, Deku demonstrated Gearshift’s attack potential by using it to punch a powered Shigaraki away with increasing speed, allowing him to deal more damage.
He also uses it to propel himself at higher speeds, allowing him to catch up with Shigaraki afterwards and continue his attack.
Since his other superpower Fa-jin increases through movement, this technique also allows him to use Fa-jin more, which increases his power even further to the point where he can continuously achieve over 100% OFA.
The Quirk also has some defensive gadgets. As soon as Shigaraki began to grasp the rhythm of Deku’s attacks, he began to use the gearshift lever to slow his speed mid-flight, leaving opponents unpredictable.
Since he can dash forward instantly, Deku can safely avoid or delay attacks, then return to attack immediately.
Source
Like all the Quirks in the OFA, Gearshift comes from one of the OFA successors. Specifically, it came from the second user, who first received the Quiz from the younger brother of All For One.
This user has long been the subject of theories, as he not only resembles Bakugou but is also the most distant of the eight predecessors whenever they speak to Deku.
It’s still possible that he has some connection to Deku’s rival, but his Quirk doesn’t give any indication as to whether that theory is true or not.
As said before, the original Quirk could only be used on smaller objects, so the second user chose to use it as a gun.
He would fire small, bullet-shaped bullets from a device in his arm, using his powers to increase their speed.
In a flashback, he also seems to have been able to halt their flight mid-air, only to shoot them later.
The fact that this Quirk has been around in the OFA for the longest time means that it may have received the most power, which may explain why Deku took so long to unlock it.
Its effects on Deku .’s abilities
Getting this Quirk in time for the final battle could really be the key to Deku’s victory. Although the Quirk is very weak at first, its current form would be suitable for a Top Hero.
With a strategic mind like Deku’s, the ability to change speed in flight shows many positive and positive signs. He had shown his offensive and defensive potential, but this was only in a single battle.
If used correctly, he can easily use it to rescue others, send them flying out of danger in an instant, or slow them down to avoid being hit by bullets.
Combined with the other 5 Quirks that Deku can use, things can get even better. Its combination with Fa-jin is easily the strongest combo Deku uses.
However, he can also use it to affect the speed of Smokescreen, or Blackwhip’s tentacles.
However, despite all these possibilities, the OFA’s second heir stated that Deku would only have 5 minutes to end the battle using Gearshift, implying that there is some undisclosed potential danger to him. with possible Quiz later.
