The adventurous journey of livestreaming
Specifically, with 1.2 million followers on YouTube, Norme became the center of attention with his daring challenge of staying awake for 264 hours and 24 minutes to livestream. During that time, Norme's brother Don had to help the YouTuber stay awake many times by splashing water on his brother's face and even forcing Norme to stand up.
Many viewers were also worried, commenting and asking Norme to stop the challenge because his health was showing signs of deterioration. They even called the police because they were concerned for his safety. Near the end of the live stream, ambulances and police cars were still standing outside the main male character's house. The broadcast was finally stopped when Norme started to show signs of fainting, hallucinating and even his voice became incoherent.
Norme's YouTube channel has now deleted the 12-day live stream.
Sharing about this crazy challenge, medical experts said that sleep deprivation can pose serious health risks. People who stay awake during that time are at risk of complications such as communication problems, impaired judgment, memory loss, decreased attention, impaired vision, hearing loss, decreased hand-eye coordination, tremors and muscle tension.
