Momo Harumi and Etsuko Kozakura will star in the series premiering in 2025
Kodoani.com – In 2025, a new world full of color and humor will open with the television anime version of the manga “Uchūjin Mūmū” (English title: Me and the Alien MuuMuu) composed by Hiroki Miyashita. Pony Canyonthe main producer of the project, just confirmed this information on Thursday, along with the expected voice actors: Momo Harumi as student Sakurako Umeyashiki and Etsuko Kozakura as the alien MuuMuu.
Story begins when MuuMuu, a cat-like alien, appears on Earth with a strange goal: to learn and restore the home appliance technology his species has lost. Sakurako, a college girl with a peaceful life, is suddenly caught up in a chain of chaotic events when MuuMuu decides to “take shelter” in her house. From here, they go through funny and sad situations together, discover secrets about technology, friendship, and the wonders of life.
The unique point of the series is the combination of science fiction and comedy elements, all interwoven through the strange but emotional relationship between Sakurako and MuuMuu. The anime is expected to bring a new experience, both gentle and attractive, with a “super spectacular” setting of everyday life mixed with unimaginable adventures.
The manga debuted as a one-shot in Young King Ours magazine in 2019, quickly attracted attention and was developed into a long-term series. The work was published in its seventh volume last May and is known as a tribute to the famous mystical magazine Mū, which has appeared in famous works such as Weathering With You or Occultic; Nine.
Hiroki Miyashita, in addition to “Uchūjin MūMū”, is also known for “Yakuza Reincarnation” – a collaboration with Takeshi Natsuhara, currently in its 15th volume in Japan and released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
With the success of the original manga and careful investment in the anime version, “Me and the Alien MuuMuu” promises to be a “strange wind” on the small screen, bringing laughter and relaxation to the audience by 2025.
