Riot’s continuous edits have made this Gunner champion “half lean, half fat”, not strong in any way.
Among the generals of League of Legends, Caitlyn can be said to be the “model” ADC general. Riot has given Caitlyn the highest base range in the game (650) and requires players to position themselves well to deal effective damage.
However, in recent seasons, Riot has sought to change Caitlyn’s basic gameplay in many different ways. First, it was modified into an overpowering champion with the “spam” style of play with the Q skill – Shoot Through Apples.
After that, Caitlyn’s ultimate damage was also increased and made the Lethality build more suitable for this character. Previously, the new interactions of the passive and the two skills W and E made Caitlyn a champion who packs strong damage in one combo.

However, the above continuous adjustments from Riot have resulted in the fact that Caitlyn currently does not have a very optimal playing style. This champion has a little bit of everything (poke, burst damage, damage over time) but none of them are really strong.
As a result, Caitlyn has no consistency in terms of gameplay or equipment at the present time. Although Caitlyn’s win rate is not too bad (about 50%), this character cannot rise to the group of the best ADCs in League of Legends.
Perhaps it’s time for Riot to get serious about shaping Caitlyn’s gameplay in the future. They should let this character have a truly effective playing style instead of “cramming” too many styles into the Piltover Police Chief.
