Kodoani.com – The 9th issue of Weekly Young Magazine, published by Kodansha on Monday, confirmed that the anime adaptation of the manga The Fable by Katsuhisa Minami will premiere in April. The magazine also announced the main cast and revealed that the drama will be broadcast in two consecutive installments (two quarters a year). The anime will air on NTV and its affiliates.

Ryousuke Takahashi will direct the anime at Tezuka Productions. Science fiction writer Yūya Takashima is writing and supervising the series’ script, and Mayumi Morita is also writing the script. Character designers include Hisama Kinoshita, Saki Hasegawa and Junichi Hayama.

Minami launched the manga series in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in November 2014 and ended it in November 2019. The series has a total of 22 volumes and won the Best General Manga award at the annual Kodansha Awards 41st time 2017.
The manga has been adapted into two live-action films, released in June 2019 and June 2021. Minami also launched the manga The Fable: The Second Contact in July 2021, which is a sequel to The Fable. The manga ended serialization on July 1 and is described as the “second installment” in the entire manga series. Kodansha released the manga’s ninth and final volume on November 6.
