Former anime director Takaomi Kanasaki will serve as the main director for the third season at Drive. (Studio DEEN has animated the previous two seasons and JC Staff has animated the anime.) Yujiro Abe (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Great Pretender’s director) is directing the film. Makoto Uezu is once again in charge of the series’ script, and Koichi Kikuta returns as character designer.
The first main television anime season premiered in January 2016 and the second premiered in January 2017. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan. The animated film KONOSUBA – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson premiered in Japan in August 2019.
Anime adaptation of Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! premiered on April 5 and ended on Thursday.
The Konosuba light novel series by writer Natsume Akatsuki and illustrator Kurone Mishima revolves around Kazuma, a lonely student who died in a traffic accident, but after his death met the goddess Aqua. He has a chance to reincarnate in a fantasy world and can keep one with him. When he decides to choose Aqua herself, they are both brought to a new life. The pair go on quests to earn enough money to buy food, shelter, and clothing, and eventually hire the witch Megumin and the swordswoman Darkness, who they quickly learn are just as useless as they are.
The main novel series ended with the 17th volume in May 2020. Akatsuki has also written the side stories and Mishima is the illustrator for the side stories. Akatsuki launched a spin-off novel in 2014, and the series includes three novels and two sequel novels.
The franchise also includes many manga and some interesting games.
