Kodoani.com – Website for anime adaptations of manga Ranking of Kings (Ōsama Ranking) of Sōsuke Tōka revealed a promotional video for the Ōsama Ranking: Yūki no Takarabako (Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage) anime on Sunday. The anime will tell a story never seen in the original anime, and will feature returning cast and crew.
Anime Ranking of Kings premiered in October 2021 and aired in two consecutive waves (quarters of the year).
The web manga revolves around Bojji, a deaf, helpless prince who can’t even wield a children’s sword. As the first son, he tries his best and dreams of becoming the greatest king in the world. However, people whisper behind his back about him being “a useless prince” and “there’s no way he could be king.”
Bojji is able to befriend his first friend, “Kage” (darkness) – a real shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji very well. (Kage is a survivor of the almost wiped out Kage assassin clan. No longer an assassin, Kage now makes a living stealing.) The story follows Bojji’s growth as he encounters many different people in his life, starting with a fateful encounter with Kage.
Tōka has been serializing the manga on the user-submitted manga website Manga Hack and other locations since May 2017. BookLive will publish the manga in English.
