Kodoani.com – The official Twitter account for the manga anime adaptation Solo Leveling Writer Chugong and the late artist DUBU (REDICE Studio) revealed a teaser video and first main image on Tuesday, and revealed that the anime will premiere next winter:
It’s been more than a decade since the sudden appearance of “gates”—paths that connect our world to another dimension. Since then, some people have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals “hunters”. Hunters make a living by using their power to conquer the dungeons inside the portal. In this world of demanding customers, low rank hunter Jinwoo Sung was known as “humanity’s weakest hunter”. One day, Jin-Woo was mortally wounded when he rushed into the high-level double dungeon hidden in the low-level dungeon. Just then, a mysterious quest window appeared in front of him. With his death near, Jin-Woo decided to accept the quest and start leveling up… while the others didn’t.
Shunsuke Nakashige is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures, and Noboru Kimura is the main screenwriter. Tomoko Sudo is designing the characters, and Hiroyuki Sawano is composing the music.
A manhwa adaptation of Chugong’s Solo Leveling novel series, with illustrations by DUBU, debuted on Webtoon services in March 2018 and ended in December 2021.
Kadokawa published the manhwa in Japanese under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ke and will release the 11th volume on March 23.
