Bleacher Report released a viral Jujutsu Kaisen spoof video for Super Bowl LVIII, starring Patrick Mahomes as Sukuna and Brock Purdy as Jogo.
Bleacher Report’s recent Jujutsu Kaisen Super Bowl animation introduced Patrick Mahomes as Sukuna in a new animated video clip.
Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, Bleacher Report debuted a new anime short on X (formerly Twitter) featuring Sukuna vs. Jogo of Jujutsu Kaisen – only with Sukuna and Jogo replaced by star quarterbacks Mahomes and Brock Purdy. The stunning clip has gone viral with over 6.6 million impressions and over 39 thousand likes. Readers can watch the video and popular reactions below.
Jujutsu Kaisen was officially voted as the most in-demand TV show in the world
The anime series Jujutsu Kaisen is the most in-demand TV show in the world, beating out shows like The Last of Us, The Witcher and Ted Lasso.
Based on what Jujutsu Kaisen fans know about how the match between Sukuna and Jogo ended, the clip correctly suggested that Purdy was the underdog going into the Super Bowl. Both teams had similar records, with Purdy’s San Francisco 49ers winning 14 games and losing six, while Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs had a slightly better record at 14–5. After Mahomes’ clutch pass to Hardman in overtime, he led his team to its second consecutive Super Bowl title and third overall, with a final score of 25-22 for the Chiefs.
Bleacher Report has previously celebrated anime such as Naruto and Attack on Titan
Bleacher Report’s homage to anime stretches back many years, with NBA having passed over the anime series Naruto, Cowboy Bebop, and Fist of the North Star in the past. It also showcased the NFL similarly when it came to Attack on Titan, again with Mahomes and the Chiefs receiving praise. Fans can check out all four clips below.
Dragon Ball Z Wins as the World’s Most In-Demand Legacy Series – Again
Dragon Ball Z reclaims its title as the most in-demand legacy series globally, beating out even the most popular live-action titles worldwide.
As anime continues to grow in the global marketplace, fans should expect more frequent references to their favorite series. A video of One Piece’s official collaboration video with the LA Rams went viral last month, while fans spotted an unmistakable reference to Dragon Ball’s Goku by soccer player Harvey Elliot. First-time viewers or Jujutsu Kaisen fans who want to relive the series can visit Crunchyroll, which streams both seasons of the anime series as well as the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Jujutsu Kaisen follows the evolution of Yuji Itadori, a boy who swallows a cursed talisman – a demon’s finger – and becomes cursed himself. He enters a special school for witches to learn how to control his new abilities and collect the remaining parts of the demon, so that he can consume them and then be eliminated.
