Anime Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is based on the 2018 light novel series by Saekisan with illustrations by Hanekoto. It was first posted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in December before being acquired by SB Creative, after which it was published under the GA Bunko label from June 2019. It also has a manga adaptation with art by Wan Shibata and composed by Suzu Yuki. It was serialized in Square Enix’s Manga UP! since January 2020.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English and they describe the story: Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates call her “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades, but she’s also incredibly beautiful. Amane, an ordinary guy and self-proclaimed lazy person, has never thought much about divine beauty even though he attends the same school. However, everything changes when he accidentally sees Mahiru sitting alone in the park in the middle of a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this unlikely couple!
