Kodoani.com – Production team for television anime based on manga”The Blue Wolves of MibuTsuyoshi Yasuda’s (Ao no Miburo) has announced its cast and key creative team. Chiaki Kobayashi will take on the role of Shinsengumi’s Saitō Hajime, while Shūichirō Umeda will play main character Nio. Yōhei Azakami will play the role Hijikata Toshizō and Kensho Ono will play Shinsengumi’s Okita Sōji. The official website will reveal three more actors weekly in December.
Kumiko Habara, director of works such as “I’m Standing on 1,000,000 Lives” and “Surgeon Elise”, will take over as director for the anime at Maho Film. Kenta Ihara, who wrote the script for “Gamera -Rebirth-” and “I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss”, will be responsible for writing the script for the series. Yūko Ōba and Miyako Nishida handled the character designs, while Toshiki Kameyama served as sound director and Yuki Hayashi composed the music.
The manga “The Blue Wolves of Mibu” written by Tsuyoshi Yasuda has been licensed by Kodansha USA for the English version.
The story revolves around Nio, an orphan, and swords that have the ability to change history.
The manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen magazine in October 2021, and by November, volume 11 was published.
