The anime will premiere online on September 25 before debuting on TV on October 2
Kodoani.com – The main Twitter account for the light novel television anime series “The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy” (Seiken Gakuin no Maken Tsukai) by Yū Shimizu and Asagi Tōsaka uploaded the anime’s third promotional video on Tuesday. The video introduces the ending theme song “Yururi” (Leanly) by Kaho, followed by the song opening of “Sen-nen Ai” (Thousand Year Love) by Chiai Fujikawa.
The anime is scheduled to premiere on October 2 on TV Tokyo at 1:30 a.m. JST (actually October 3) before airing on other networks. ABEMA will air the anime early on September 25 at 1:30 a.m. JST (actually September 26).

Hiroyuki Morita is directing the anime at Passione, and Takayuki Noguchi is responsible for the character designs, based on original designs by Asagi Tōsaka and Asuka Keigen. Yuuji Nomi is composing music. Hisayoshi Hirasawa is the sound director. Additional staff include Kunihiko Okada (series script supervisor), Nozomu Koga (art director), Shujirou Hamakawa (production designer), and many others.
The content of the anime is described as follows:
“Awakening from magical stasis after a thousand years, Dark Lord Leonis suddenly finds himself in the body of a ten-year-old boy! He soon meets Riselia, a girl confronting the Void, the creatures that nearly destroyed humanity. Determined to uncover the mysteries of this strange new era, Leonis enrolls in Excalibur Academy, a school that trains students to fight against mysterious monsters “Could the Voids have some connection to Leonis’ past?”
Kadokawa published the first volume of Shimizu’s novel series with illustrations by Tōsaka in May 2019, and the novels are ongoing. Asuka Keigen launched a manga adaptation of the novel in Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace magazine in November 2019, and the series is still ongoing.
