An anime adaptation of the series was originally announced in August 2021.
The original web novel written by Kurokata began on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in March 2014, with illustrated print editions of KeG published by MF Books from March 2016 to March 2020 with a total plus 12 episodes. A manga adaptation illustrated by Reki Kugayama began in Kadokawa’s Monthly Magazine in April 2017 with 12 volumes released in March 2023.
Usato, an ordinary high school student, runs into two classmates after school on a rainy day. Suddenly, the three of them are engulfed in a magic circle and transported to a fantasy world.
