Shogakukan's manga website Sunday Webry shared news on Monday regarding Minoji Kurata's Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Mao Mao no Kōkyū Nazotoki Techō manga, an adaptation of Matsu Hyūga's The Apothecary Diaries light novel series.
Kurata, who welcomed a new member to his family in January, will be taking a break from his manga activities to focus on taking care of his children. However, fans can expect the manga to continue being published this summer.
The manga first launched in Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday GX magazine in August 2017 before expanding its reach on Sunday Webry in December 2018. Shogakukan has released 18 compiled volumes, with the first publishing in February 2018.
Interestingly, there is another manga adaptation of The Apothecary Diaries, provided by Nekokurage, which began its serialization journey in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine in May 2017. Square Enix Manga published the version is in English, with volume 13 recently hitting stores on March 25. .
The original novel series by author Hyūga Natsu originated on the online platform “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” in October 2011. It gained enough traction to make the leap to print, thanks to the help of Shufunotomo , starting August 2014. Touko Shino adds illustrations to enhance the reading experience.
