Embark Studios announced that their upcoming multiplayer PvE title, ARC Raiders, will be delayed until 2023.
Back in 2018, the DICE executive and lead designer from Electronic Arts left the company to form an entirely new company. After Patrick Soderlund stepped down from his position at EA and founded Embark Studios, he began to tease a new project in the works. Very little information was provided about this project until it was announced at The Game Awards event in 2021. The project is known as a second-person multiplayer PvE sci-fi shooter. three are called ARC Raiders.
The first trailer for ARC Raiders at The Game Awards showed off a lot of the game’s premise along with the main threat. This threat is an invading force of aliens, mechanical in nature. The other half of the title is represented by players, who are part of a group of resistance fighters, appropriately named the Raiders. While Embark Studios announced the game was scheduled for a 2022 release when it was revealed, the game is currently postponed to 2023.
This delay was announced on the game’s official Twitter account, where the developers noted that they were looking for ways to let the game reach its full potential, with ambitious ideas in mind. The additional time provided from this delay will be used to upgrade and expand what is already done. More details on ARC Raiders will be shared later, though the post notes that there’s a lot of fun behind its PvE multiplayer gameplay.
A lot of the responses to the post have been noted as positive, with fans encouraging the developers to dedicate their time to developing the game. Some expressed their excitement despite the release date being pushed to next year, while others noted that they saw the announcement coming because there hasn’t been anything new about ARC Raiders since. announced at The Game Awards last year.
From what has been introduced so far, enemies will come in many shapes and sizes, starting with drones for players to shoot down easily. They will eventually begin to evolve into even larger drones that can rain bullets at a group of players, with one of their biggest enemies being a giant crab-like bug. . To overcome these terrible machines, the Raiders need to use tactics and cooperation to succeed.
