Kodoani.com – Asus posted an apology for the misprint on the motherboard’ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO EVA-02 EDITION‘ on the Republic of Gamers (ROG) website on November 15. This motherboard, part of the ROG x Evangelion product line, features the red, black and orange color scheme from Asus’ ‘ROG x’ and is inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion animated series. However, unlike the remaining components, peripherals, and accessories, the text on the motherboard contains a misprint with the word “Evangenlion” instead of “Evangelion“.
While the website states that the misprint “does not affect any function or performance” on the product, the company is rolling out a replacement program that will provide “a decorative repaired that the end user can use to replace the misprinted part”. For customers who purchased the affected products, Asus will also extend the product’s warranty for another year. The website urges customers experiencing problems to contact the company’s customer service department.
Asus’ ROG x Evangelion lineup was announced in August 2023 and includes the GeForce RTX 4090 (Graphics Processing Unit) GPU, as well as peripherals and accessories like keyboards and touchpads.
