Kodoani.com – Manga author Chūya Koyama has just revealed interesting information about the anime adapted from the manga Space Brothers (Uchū Kyōdai) when appearing on Odoru! Sanma Goten on Tuesday. He said that their plan is to continue producing the anime after the manga ends. Koyama explained that the previous anime had caught up with the manga at that time.
Previously, in January 2022, Koyama revealed plans to begin the manga’s final arc that year. And in December 2022, he announced that the manga is in its final stages and is expected to end soon.
The Space Brothers manga was not only the inspiration for the anime television series from 2012 to 2014, but was also adapted into a live-action film in 2012 starring Shun Oguri and Masaki Okada. The 29th manga volume comes with a special edition DVD for the anime series Space Brothers #0 (Uchū Kyōdai #0). Koyama also wrote the original script for the film, a uniquely engaging story.
Manga Space Brothers has appeared in Morning magazine since 2007, and as of September 22, Kodansha published the manga’s 43rd compiled book volume. The manga received the Overall Award at the 56th Shogakukan Manga Awards and the 35th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2011.
