As a coop shooter, Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood is a pretty good one. While maintaining the zombie FPS gameplay, it sadly doesn’t compare to the legacy of the Left 4 Dead series from Valve that the studio hopes to follow in that success. The game currently has a “mostly positive” score on Steam, so it still has a fan base. On top of that, the developer has released updates and new content, and a new tweet suggests that there are more expansions in the works.
As spotted by VG247, an official Back 4 Blood Twitter post says that “Expand 2” has been included, but there’s no indication on when it will start rolling out or even when. what it will involve. There seem to be a few hints in the tweet, though, such as mentioning something “like a cult around these parts”. There’s also the word “action” which is confusingly capitalized as A. It’s impossible to say if this has anything to do with the upcoming DLC, so that’s all fans can do at this stage. is speculation and hope that there will be more news.
In response to a comment, the studio also said that there will be a third expansion, so it looks like the game will receive an abundant source of new content in the future. It’s hard to say for sure, but for fans of the game, it looks like there’s quite a bit to look forward to. As mentioned above, the game tried to be a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series. However, some felt that the game could not reach the heights of its predecessor. Although it does contain the extras of classic shooters, such as it being an apocalyptic four-man coop squad with dozens of zombies, in which party members need to Working together to fight these undead, the game doesn’t seem to have the spirit of L4D. Back 4 Blood is a game known for its difficulty, with a fairly recent update making it even harder.
Despite its huge fan base, many feel the game is one of the most disappointing releases of 2021, even when compared to titles like Battlefield 2042 and Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Back 4 Blood has struggled to stand on the shoulders of Valve’s Left 4 Dead titles, but it clearly has more players if Turtle Rock is willing to keep churning out new content.
