The latest Gundunda movie receives tie-in toys from SH Figuarts
The figure of Kira Yamato is decked out in the hero’s latest pilot armor, introduced in Mobile Suit gundam SEED Freedom. Along with a wearable helmet, he also comes with two interchangeable facial expressions and a mini figure of his pet bird, Torii/Birdy. The two visors are also only accessible when wearing a helmet. Additionally, Kira’s other accessories are a gun and toy that can hold both the gun and his helmet in his hands.
Lacus Clyne is seen in a version of her usual kimono-like outfit. Along with four interchangeable faces, she also has her own robot bird named Blue and a pink version of Haro. This ball-like robot is the true mascot of the Gundunda series, with different incarnations of Haro appearing across multiple timelines and continuities. Now available for pre-order in both the US and Japan, the Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato retail for 9,900 yen (about $67 USD).

Mobile Suit GTA SEED Freedom returns to the space age
First airing in 2002, Mobile SuitGundam SEED is the ninth overall installment in the long-running mecha series and the beginning of the GunDam SEED spin-off series. It and its sequels/spinoffs are set in the Space Age timeline, distinct from the regular Universal Century timeline that begins with the original Mobile Suit. This first series was followed by Mobile Suit Gunma SEED Destiny, which turned 20 years old the same year that the current sequel — Mobile Suit Gunma SEED Freedom — hit theaters. The spin-offs of the Mobile Suit GTA Astray manga are also quite popular, as they introduce notable mobile suits such as the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame.
Other exciting Gun anime works are also being produced and released in 2024, at least partly thanks to the huge success of Mobile Suit Gun: The Witch from Mercury. It was also recently announced that character designer Akira Yasuda, aka Akiman, will be collaborating once again with franchise creator Yoshiyuki Tomino for a new work. It’s unknown whether this mysterious project will be a new Gun anime, but given that the original series will turn 45 years old in 2024, this seems very likely.
