This year’s 40th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine did not publish a new chapter of Yūki Tabata’s Black Clover manga on Monday as previously planned, due to Tabata’s poor health. The magazine says the manga will return in its 41st issue on September 13.
Tabata created Black Clover in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015. The manga’s 29th volume was published on July 2. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print, and on its MANGA Plus service. Shueisha is also publishing the manga digitally. As of May, the manga has more than 15 million copies in circulation worldwide.
An anime adaptation of the manga premiered in Japan in October 2017. The anime was originally listed with 51 episodes, but it continued into a new season with episode 52 in October 2018 and continued into another season. new season in October 2019. Anime went on hiatus starting April 2020 due to the effects of the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on production and resumed in July 2020 with episode 133. The anime aired its 170th and final episode on March 30.
Crunchyroll streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles, and Funimation streamed an English dub of the show. The anime premiered on Adult Swim’s Toonami program in December 2017 and began its fourth season on the channel on June 19.
