The Black Clover manga is expected to return on December 25, 2023 with a new 28-page chapter. The first 368 chapters are now available to read on both the official Shonen Jump and Manga PLUS apps. The series is making its long-awaited return after moving from Weekly Shonen Jump to sister magazine Jump GIGA, which releases four chapters per year (or every three months). Series creator Yuki Tabata explained that the move was to improve the situation for himself when work deadlines and family health situations began to conflict with each other. Tabata released an official statement regarding the move which you can read below:
We are moving to Jump GIGA! As Black Clover continued, I noticed that I was starting to struggle with my weekly manga creation schedule. After many discussions with the editorial board, I have decided to transfer this series to Jump GIGA. I know this sudden decision may shock many of my readers. I regret not being able to finish the series on Weekly Shonen Jump. But I believe that at GIGA I will be able to finish the series in a way that suits my current drawing speed and is much better for my health. There are still many things I want to draw and many things I have to draw, so stay tuned. I will do my best to end Black Clover as satisfyingly as possible. I know I’m making you wait a bit, but I promise to return to GIGA in winter in a strengthened state, so look forward to reading about Asta’s next adventure. Thank you for everything! – Yuki Tabata

VIZ Media licenses the series in English and describes the plot of Black Clover as follows: Asta is a boy who dreams of becoming the greatest magician in the kingdom. There’s just one problem—he can’t use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives an extremely rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him anti-magic powers. Can someone who can’t use magic really become the Sorcerer King? One thing is certain—Asta will never give up!
