A new generation of Soul Reapers has appeared in the Bleach one-shot, with a few appearing in the original manga.
As the ending chapter of Bleach makes clear, Ichigo Kurosaki’s quest as a Soul Reaper hero is over and he has hung up his cloak in favor of a new generation of Soul Reapers – including his own son. me, Kazui Kurosaki. Bleach’s new one-shot chapter greatly expands on Kazui’s character as well as three other new additions to the cast.
Years have passed since the fall of King Yhwach, and peace has returned to Soul Society and the world of the living. Now a new threat from the Underworld emerges, and four new Bleach heroes are ready to confront this foe and save the day. In just about 70 pages or so, the Bleach one-shot dives into what makes these new characters who they are.
Kazui Kurosaki: A Reckless Adventurer
Although Kazui Kurosaki made a cameo appearance in the original Bleach manga, it was really just a cameo, a scene that added him to the Soul Reaper’s roster of heroes. He is the son of Orihime Inoue and Ichigo Kurosaki, and like his father, Kazui has a cape and zanpakuto that cuts the soul of an actual Soul Reaper. In fact, his unnamed zanpakuto bears a striking resemblance to his father, although no shikai or bankai modes have been revealed. Kazui was not present at the konso reisai with his father.
Ichika Abarai: Renji & Rukia’s Daughter
Ichika Abarai has also made a small appearance in the original Bleach manga, but the one-shot is her first full appearance in the franchise. She is the daughter of Renji and Rukia, unlike Kazui, she is constantly exposed to the lore and customs of the Soul Reaper in her hometown Soul Society, giving her an advantage during her initial training.
An active and enthusiastic kid in one-on-one fights, Ichika regularly trains with Team 11’s Ikakku Madarame and impresses him with her growing talent for swordsmanship. She was nearby when Renji and Ichigo faced strange mutant Hollows from the Underworld, warning her father when the beasts attacked. Her Shikai is still unknown to this day, and she doesn’t have bankai status either.
Lieutenant Atau Rindo: Strong & Quiet
Lieutenant Atau is one of two Brand New Souls to make his debut and second in command of Squad 7. Atau doesn’t speak – instead, he uses Japanese sign language, and for convenience , Atui learned how to read lips in case other people don’t use sign language to talk. Overall Atau shows a calm and mature personality, and has a great love for animals, especially birds. In combat, he can write the name of an animal on his zanpakuto sword to use shikai, and animals of that type will be summoned. He also bears a resemblance to Chad, but no connection between them has been established.
Lieutenant Yuyu Yayahara Loves Everything Gyaru
Yuyu Yayahara, Squad 8’s second-in-command, is the second new Soul Reaper to appear in one shot Bleach. Yuyu represents an eerie blend of Soul Reaper and human culture, gyaru fashionistas from modern Japan, from dyed hair and tan to stylish nails and uniforms Soul Reaper is somewhat revealing. She even uses social media, showing how the Soul Society has embraced modern technology. Yuyu is also a skilled fighter, being able to use his hands to mimic the jaws of a bear to crush Hell Pits with ease. Nothing about her zanpakuto is known at this time.
