Today, in addition to the release date of Bleach: The Thousand Years’ Blood War Episode 17 Coming up, we’ll also reveal what really made the series’ final release so special and why people are talking about it.
Along with all the disclosures and reading instructions for the sequel. It would be quite difficult to talk about it since there are so many anime-only scenes in the episode. We’ve seen fans look forward to moments that we didn’t even know we wanted, which Kubo and the animation team brought to us with an exceptional level of care and detail.
Volume 16 is titled “Basic Virulence”, and it takes its name from Chapter 552 of the manga. This week’s volume covers chapters 552 to 554 of the manga, adapting a total of three chapters of the manga’s content.
Now, this should sound some alarm bells for you; Much of this episode’s length has been padded with anime-specific material. This episode features some anime-exclusive scenes involving new fight scenes with Isagi and Yumichika, as well as Shinjihirako’s much-anticipated Bankai reveal, and last but not least, another mysterious post-credits scene where we encounter Ichigo in the strange world we learned more about last week.
Bleach: The Thousand Years of Blood, Episode 16: Summary and Review
As the episode unfolds, we see that there are many lieutenants fighting against the Quincys. It’s completely insane for me that characters from the tear lieutenant struggle against the NPCs of the story, but I think there’s a long way to go to establish the extent of a theme in this installment.
We also get a little synopsis of the scene where Hitsugaya is defeated by Bazz-B because, for reasons I’m completely unaware of, we just have to watch our little captain sink again.
With this, we go back to Hisagi, where we see that he’s on the run from guys who seem to be chasing him. I can’t stress how crazy it is that characters who once fought against Arrancar and were defeated are now struggling with Foot Soldiers, even after having grown significantly stronger since that point in the Arrancar Arc.
It was the perfect introduction to the extent of the power disparity between the Quicy Army and the Arrancar Army. We then head back to Bazz-B, interrupted by Cang Du, who insists he was the one to finish off Hitsugaya. After Cang Du takes over, he activates Hitsugaya’s Bankai, which looks absolutely amazing.
The lighting, combined with the visual effect of the ice particles flowing from his Bankai wings, is truly breathtaking. Now, following this, we get some material from the end of Chapter 551, which was also adapted into last week’s episode finale, and Urahara basically tells Mayuri that he found a way to recover the stolen Bankai.
