Butareba -The Story of a Man Turned Into a Pig- has revealed the date of its final episode: February 5. The final episode was previously pushed back due to scheduling issues due to the delay of episode 9. An updated version of the latest image has been revealed:
Project No. 9 is an animated adaptation under the direction of Masayuki Takahashi. Deko Akao created the series. Susumu Watanabe is responsible for the character designs. Kenichiro Suehiro and Mayuko composed the music. The theme song is “Watashi ga Warau Wake ha” by ASCA as the opening and “Hitorijanaiyo” by Myuk as the ending. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka voices the titular pig.
The story Buta no Liver (Heat the Pig Liver: The Story of a Man Turned Into a Pig, Butareba) is based on the isekai novel written by Takuma Sakai and illustrated by Asagi Tohsaka. The novel began serialization in 2020; a manga adaptation is currently underway.
The plot follows an unattractive otaku reincarnated as a pig, after passing out from eating raw pig liver. In the new world, he meets Jess, a girl who can read minds. Jess accepts him for who he is, but in the end she intends to eat him. However, she is in danger and Pig is the only one who can save her using his new set of skills including his exquisite sense of smell. Crunchyroll is streaming this series with English subtitles.
