Tatsuki Fujimoto has finally revealed the details of the prank Denji and Power pull in a chapter of Chainsaw Man, and it’s a foul one.
Fujimoto directly tweeted his reaction when watching the anime adaptation of his Chainsaw Man work aired. This week, Chainsaw Man aired episode 5, where a team of Public Safety Demon Hunters, consisting of Denji, Power, and Aki, were sent to exterminate demons at a hotel. This volume is consistent with Chapter 14 of the manga, which was published in March 2019. Aki was especially strict with Denji and Power during their pre-extermination meeting. The two wonder if it was the result of a practical joke they dragged Aki in the morning. After three years, the creator of Chainsaw Man revealed that Denis and Power’s prank involved placing a large piece of “poop” in Aki’s nose. Fujimoto did not say to whom it belonged after dropping the “number two” bomb.
Chainsaw Man’s introduction to family chaos is found
Chainsaw Man continues the story of Denji, introduced at the beginning of the series as a young man with nothing much in life other than the clothes on his back and his loyal best friend, Pochita. After Pochita died and sacrificed himself to save Denji, turning him into the Terrible Chainsaw Man, Denji was given a chance at a new life as a Public Safety Demon Hunter, an organization dedicated to kill demons. Along with work, Denji now has a rather dysfunctional family in the form of Aki Hayakawa, a Demon Hunter with a hatred for demons, and Power, a Blood Fiend who seems to care only about her cat Meowy.
Ryū Nakayama is directing the anime adaptation produced by MAPPA with Hiroshi Seko as the scriptwriter and character designer by Kazutaka Sugiyama. Kikunosuke Toya takes on the Japanese dub role as Denji, while Ryan Colt Levy takes on the English dub. Shogo Sakata voices Aki, with Reagan Murdock as the English voice actor, while Fairouz Ai Kadota and Sarah Wiedenheft portray Power in their respective language dubs. The voice of Makima, the mysterious woman who takes on the role of Denji, is Japanese voice actors Tomori Kusunoki and Suzie Yeung in English.
Manga is the winning work
Booming in the comics scene in December 2018, Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man has attracted the interest and attention of many people due to his violent graphics and mature sexual themes, all of which are shown through the perspective of a young man who has had to go through a lot in his short life. Many critics have noted that the series is very different from any other shōnen series currently in circulation despite having begun serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump and later moved to Shōnen Jump +. The series has won several awards, including Best Shōnen Manga at the 2021 Shogakukan Manga Awards and the Harvey Awards twice in a row.
The first five episodes of Chainsaw Man are available on Crunchyroll and Hulu. The manga currently has 110 chapters and can be read on Viz Media and Manga Plus.
