Anime Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers is based on the light novel series by Miya Kinojo and illustrated by Katagiri. It was first published as a web novel on the website Shosetsuka ni Narou in 2016 before being acquired by Overlap the same year. It also spawned a manga adaptation with art by Akine Itomachi and licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English, describing the plot as follows: The magical kingdom of Klyrode summons hundreds of heroes from other worlds each year to fight in the war against against the Darkness and his powerful demon army. Banaza is one of those heroes, summoned from the Royal Capital Paluma, but something is wrong—Banaza is just an ordinary merchant. He has no magic, no fighting ability, and his stats are terrible. Worse yet, an accident prevents him from returning home! Rejected from becoming a hero and stranded in another world, abandoned in the far reaches of the kingdom by a cruel king who just wants him gone, Banaza’s fate looks rather bleak. But what happens when the failed hero candidate realizes he has super cheat powers when he reaches level two?
