From January to June 2022, the actual revenue of the domestic game market was 147.789 billion yuan, down 1.80% year on year. The actual revenue of the Chinese console game market was 881 million yuan, down 1.02% year-on-year. Although high-quality console games are more and more popular among consumers, the epidemic has resulted in a shortage of new console hardware and weaker performance of new products compared to the same period last year.
The report also cites the Chinese e-sports game market as 63.712 billion yuan, down 11.59% year-on-year. The epidemic has greatly affected the e-sports industry, and offline events have also decreased a lot.
According to Global Market Research, the Chinese games market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 15.4% between 2018-2023. Market size to reach USD83.79 billion in revenue by 2023.
