The Bilibili Comics service will shut down on February 29 following a change in “strategic direction”. The service will shut down at 14:00 (2pm) Singapore time, after which digital content, including comics, will no longer be available. Starting today, new subscriptions have been disabled and existing users can no longer access comic refills.
The announcement, published on the official Bilibili Comics website, advises users to spend all their coins by February 29, but those who prefer that option will also receive a refund. Users can also terminate their accounts and request copies of their data. The statement posted on the official website also states: Before closing our servers, we will continue to process your queries and requests. If you have an unresolved issue, please send an email to [email protected] and for your reference, we will stop receiving and processing emails on July 29, 2024. Once again, we are grateful for your support of Bilibili Comics.
The Bilibili Comics website and app were launched in 2021. They feature official English translations of titles like Heaven Official’s Blessing, I’m Just a Side Character in a Dating Simulator, My Young Lady Is a NEET, etc. Although initially launched as a free service, the platform soon adopted a coin top-up system: some chapters are free, while others can be unlocked with a certain amount of coins (currency of the site that can be purchased). In July 2022, Bilibili Comics announced a partnership with Anime-Planrt.
