Romantic comedy manga How I Atted an All-Guy’s Mixer will soon be adapted into an anime.
According to social media posts on 2020. A poster and various promotional images were released, as well as a short trailer. The summary of the series reads: “Tokiwa University student is invited to a concert by his female friend Suo. But when he arrives with his friends, they are greeted by three dazzlingly handsome men?! But as the two groups get to know each other differently, they find themselves growing closer together in unexpected ways.”
The series has been licensed by Square Enix since 2021 and its sixth manga volume will be released in Japan on October 12. The series’ promotional poster features the three main female characters, Fuji, Suo and Kohaku, cross-dressing a female character. the bar they work at, while their true identities are shown in silhouette. Tokiwa, the male lead, and his friends Hagi and Asagi also appeared in the teaser trailer and other promotional images for the series that were released on social networks.
Not much is known about the adaptation at the moment, but the series’ official X account and Aokawa’s X account will both periodically post new information before the first episode comes out. The series still doesn’t have a release date, so it’s unclear when – or where – audiences can tune in and see the shoujo manga come to life on screen.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time How I Become an All-Guy’s Mixer has been adapted into a non-manga form. The series received a live-action television adaptation in late 2022, lasting 10 episodes, with Hiroki Nanami playing Suo and Sora Inoue playing Tokiwa. The show airs in Japan on the Kansai TV and Tokyo MX networks.
While the anime series likely won’t premiere for a while, fans of the original manga will have this latest adaptation to look forward to — and those wanting to check out the series for the first time will have a blast Perfect departure once it released.
