Hideo Kojima appears at Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote to announce the launch
Kodoani.com – Hideo Kojima appeared at the keynote at Apple’s 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to reveal that the game Death Stranding: Director’s Cut by Kojima Productions will launch for Mac later this year.
Kojima added that his team is actively working to bring their future titles to the Apple platform.
The Death Stranding game originally shipped for PlayStation 4 in November 2019. The game launched on PC via Steam in July 2020 after a delay from June 2020 due to COVID-19. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, the PlayStation 5 version of the game, launches in September 2021. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut launches for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in March 2022. The game is planned for a film adaptation at Hammerstone Studios (Barbarian, Bill and Ted Face the Music).
Kojima Productions is developing Death Stranding 2. The game will star Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna and Troy Baker.
Kojima said he finished the story for the sequel before the pandemic, but after going through the pandemic, he rewrote the whole story from scratch. He added that he also rewrote it because he “didn’t want to predict any more futures.” Koijma also said he’s working on another “brand new” game he’s testing, as well as other visual projects.
