What happened in Delicious In Dungeon Episode 1?
Delicious in Dungeon revolves around adventurers who traverse dungeons in hopes of gaining dominion over a mythical kingdom, including main characters Laios, Marcille, and Chilchuck. In Delicious in Dungeon episode #1, “Hot Pot/Tart”, Laios’ group is forced to leave the official dungeon after they are defeated by a powerful red dragon, said dragon even eating his sister by Laios, Falin. The three of them return to the dungeon to bring Falin back to life before she is digested, and In order to survive the lack of funds, Laios was quite eager to convince people to start eating the monsters they encountered in the dungeons..
With their new strategy in place, Laios’ party returns to the dungeon and recruits Senshi, a dwarf with incredible knowledge of dungeons and monster cooking. From there, the episode splits into two different party segments that kill animals and prepare them into specific dishes. As implied in the title of episode #1, “Hot Pot/Tart”, first half of Delicacies in the dungeon episode #1 has Laios and his team making hot pot from scorpions, slime, algae and roots, and the second half has them making tarts from fruit harvested from the carnivorous plant that nearly ate Marcille.
Delicious In Dungeon is already an outstanding fantasy anime
So far, Delicious in Dungeon only has one episode, but it’s already shaping up to be a truly outstanding fantasy anime. The ridiculous nature of the premise is one thing, but the great writing surrounding it, along with the always excellent animation and direction of Studio Trigger’s productions, makes it one of the show’s best. of Winter 2024 and a show that more than lives up to its hype. If Studio Trigger maintains that level of consistency then Delicacies in the dungeon could easily be one of the best anime of the year and watching it happen would be great.
