The player preparing to follow in Faker's footsteps has caused fierce controversy
In 2024, Riot launches the Hall of Legends mechanism to honor the great players of League of Legends. The first person, no one more deserving that even the opposing team's fans have to admit, is Faker. But according to some information, the person who could follow in the footsteps of the “Demon King” is causing fierce controversy and is Uzi.
Because, for LPL, Uzi is “Super ADC”. Many viewers still remember how strong the AD generals in Uzi's hands were when they had enough resources. However, in his entire career, Uzi has never won the World Championship. And more importantly, according to many opinions, Uzi is not even as worthy as Ruler, Gumayusi or formerly Bang, Deft.
The reason is that Uzi at his peak is still just an AD type that exploits resources given to him by his teammates. But if they encounter a very strong opponent, or if they are just evenly matched, Uzi and Royal Never Give Up will immediately encounter difficulties. “In LPL, Deft beat me over and over again. At Worlds, I met Piglet and Bang. Even the most favorable meta and teammates can't win, so why bother entering HoL?”, an audience member questioned.
While Bang, Deft or Ruler, Gumayusi are all AD types that can be “self-reliant”. The ability to “carry the team” of Bang or Ruler is unquestionable. Gumayusi is still very young but has shown outstanding talent. While Deft has defeated Uzi's RNG many times with Edward Gaming.
To get into HoL like Faker is not easy at all
In all aspects, Uzi has fame and talent. However, two important factors that he lacks are title and professional influence. At RNG before or at a time when he joined BLG, Uzi was not the real leader. And more importantly, Uzi is not the type of AD who can play well even when his 4 teammates are weak, at least most of his career has proven this factor.
Even Uzi did not have a long enough career to set records or achievements in the history of world League of Legends. Worth mentioning, he is 1 year younger than Faker and many 97 players like him are still playing, while Uzi seems to have ended his career a long time ago.
Maybe the LPL audience won't have any questions if Uzi gets into HoL. But perhaps for the League of Legends community, this will be one of the most dissatisfying names of this Hall of Fame project.
