Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87 reveals Universe 7’s strongest warrior as one of the franchise’s most dangerous and beloved villains

“Granolah the Survivor Saga,” the most recent installment of Dragon Ball Super, saw both the protagonist and Gas use Planet Cereal’s Dragon Balls to become the most powerful warriors in Universe 7. However, Chapter 87 of the manga reveals that neither of them are actually the strongest. Instead, that honor belongs to Frieza.
In Dragon Ball Super Chapter 87, Goku and Vegeta both struggle to fight an old version of Qi. They were eventually saved by Frieza, who destroyed Gas with a single blow. Later in the chapter, Frieza also confronts True Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta, the strongest versions of the two Saiyan heroes. Even together, the two are unable to defeat Frieza, who spares their lives, stating that he did not come to Planet Cereal to kill them.
As Frieza explains, when Gas and Granolah grant their wish, he is in the Chamber of Spirit and Time, which is essentially outside of Universe 7. How strong is Frieza?

While Future Trunks was able to defeat Frieza without much of a problem, the villain later returned in Dragon Ball Super and demonstrated his Golden Frieza transformation, allowing him to fight Goku using the Use Super Saiyan Blue. However, the classic villain seems to have overcome his old nemesis now with Black Frieza. At the end of the chapter, Whis doesn’t consider it possible that Frieza isn’t the strongest warrior in the universe, but the title of the manga chapter is also “The Strongest God of the Universe”.
