Summary
Broly’s character development in Dragon Ball Super takes a dramatic turn when it is revealed that he has the ability to learn to control his rage. This marks a major change in Broly’s role, as he may no longer be limited to being a last resort in battle and could become a mainstay in future battles . Broly’s journey to control his rage will be documented, providing a fresh perspective on the Dragon Ball franchise and avoiding the fate of other eliminated Z-Fighters.
Warning: spoilers for Dragon Ball Super chapter #101 Although brought Broly Switching from film to manga was the first big step, Super Dragon Ball Up until now, it has never been possible to take full advantage of the legendary Super Saiyan’s personality. The manga’s latest chapter builds up to Broly’s appearance in the Superhero arc, making it clear that he has joined Goku and Vegeta as part of the main cast.
In chapter #101 of Dragon Ball Super by author Akira Toriyama and artist Toyotarou, Vegeta noticed while fighting Broly that his opponent was not using his full power due to fear of losing control. Vegeta makes it clear to Broly that he must find a way to learn to control his rage instead of suppressing it, as not being able to use his true power would be a liability.
If Broly finds a way to control his rage, then Dragon Ball Super will be able to include him in future battles, which will officially make him more than just a supporting character. Broly’s recurring appearances in recent chapters (and in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie) seem to hint at just that.
Broly’s character will never be the same in Dragon Ball Super
This is a huge development because it was always implied that Broly’s rage would always be uncontrollable. In both Broly’s first DBZ movie and Super’s retcon, the Legendary Super Saiyan’s inability to control himself serves as a defining plot point, in which his rage makes him an enemy. almost invincible and now completely entrenched in who he is as a character. As a result, even after Broly joined the “good guys” in Super, it always seemed implausible that he could witness any of the action Besides serving as a last resort in battle, forcing him to constantly watch from the sidelines like the vast majority of other Z-Fighters is no longer relevant.
The finiteness and severe limitations of Broly’s power have always been quite clear. In fact, Universe 6’s version of the Legendary Super Saiyan seems to take advantage of this common understanding by portraying them as a demon that will continue to grow in power before destroying itself, as revealed in chapter #36. However, by giving the Legendary Super Saiyan of Universe 7 the opportunity to eliminate this finitude and these severe limitations, Dragon Ball Super is creating a world where Broly can fight as much as he wants in any battle, it would be a major development for the series.
Broly’s cameo in the Super Heroes arc got fans super excited, but his return in Dragon Ball Super’s epic chapter #101 makes it clear that he’s here to stay. The mention of Frieza in the same scene seems to imply that Broly will be an asset in the difficult future battles the Saiyans will have to fight. However, he still has to learn how to control and effectively use his rage in battle, just like Universe 6’s Kale did, and Vegeta clearly won’t help him either, as he says frankly that’s something Broly has to figure out. go out for yourself.
Although now that’s very unlikely Broly won’t learn to control his rage, Super Dragon Ball could document his journey into the future as he pursues this potential, saving him from the same fate as most Z-Fighters, who will forever have to watch from the sidelines.
