Gohan reclaimed his title as the strongest Z-Fighter after unlocking his Beast form. This comes from an observation made in the Dragon Ball Super manga, where Vegeta reports Bulma’s comments after witnessing Monster Gohan. Gohan’s immense potential has been explored by several characters throughout the series, including Piccolo and Goku.
Warning: SPOILERS for chapter #101 of Dragon Ball Super After being overshadowed for the most part Super Dragon Ball, Gohan is clearly on his way to reclaiming the position of strongest warrior in the series that he briefly held at the end of Dragon Ball Z. This is supported by Vegeta’s comments in Dragon Ball chapter #101 Super, where he reiterated Bulma’s observation about how the half-Saiyan could have surpassed him and Goku with his Monster Form.
Gohan’s new transformation was first seen in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, and later in the manga’s Super Hero Saga. While Goku and Vegeta train with Whis on Beerus’s planet, Gohan becomes the best hope to defeat Cell Max. Already angered by his daughter’s kidnapping, the warrior begins to unleash his new form after witnessing his teacher’s “death” at the hands of the villain.
Gohan is currently the strongest fighter in the franchise which has been mentioned many times, including by Toriyama in an interview where he called the half-Saiyan “stronger than anyone, or so they say.” Additionally, in chapter #91 of Dragon Ball Super, Pan asks Piccolo if her father can be stronger than her grandfather. The first responded by telling her that Gohan could easily surpass Goku, if he fought more seriously
Gohan always had the potential to surpass Goku and Vegeta
Dragon Ball Super by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou, chapter #101
In chapter #101 of Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta shares with Goku, Beerus, and Whis the information Bulma gave him about recent events on Earth and how Gohan defeated Cell Max. According to Bulma, Gohan may have surpassed her husband and Goku. Even though she is not a fighter, Bulma’s comment is given more weight by the fact that Vegeta is the one who shares it, and it sets up Goku’s later return to Earth to witness your child’s maturity.
Bulma’s assessment of Gohan’s strength is highly reliable as Vegeta demonstrates he trusts her judgment when referring to her words to Goku and Whis during training. Gohan previously surpassed older Saiyans in Dragon Ball Z’s Cell Saga when he unlocked his Super Saiyan 2 form. This makes Goku realize his son’s potential and realize that Gohan is the only one who can defeat Super Cell. Later, during the Majin Buu Saga, Gohan once again became the strongest after he underwent the Old Kai’s ritual to unleash his hidden potential.
Gohan’s new power could change the status quo of Dragon Ball Super
