The first story of Kumiko’s leadership premieres on August 4

Anime Sound! Euphonium, which is scheduled to be shown in a limited number of theaters across Japan from August 4, will also be released around the same time on Blu-ray Disc in Japan. The third season was previously confirmed to be set in Kumiko’s third year at school with Kumiko leading the club, the first story of which will be shown in Sound! Euphonium: Special Edition ~Ensemble Contest~ begins a new song to the tune of an anime arrangement by Kyoto Animation.
Novel Sound! Euphonium is published in Japan by Takarajimasha under Takarajimasha Bunko. The first two seasons of the Sound! Euphonium is directed by Tatsuya Ishihara at Kyoto Animation with Naoko Yamada directing the series. Both the series and the film feature animation produced at Kyoto Animation.
Spring freshman year high school. Kumiko, a member of the brass band in junior high, visits the brass band club in high school with classmates Hazuki and Sapphire. There, she runs into Reina, her old classmate from junior high. Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, but Kumiko can’t decide. She recalls her experience with Reina at a junior high school competition.
