Ever since Playground Games announced plans for Forza Horizon 5’s first DLC expansion, the return of the Hot Wheels series, players have wondered how it would fit into the game’s open world. play racing. The map revealed by Playground shows a giant structure floating in the air, with a cloud cover at the bottom. While Forza Horizon 5 boasts its massive Mexican open world, it looks like the Hot Wheels expansion will be completely separate from the main game. If there’s any crossover between the two options, that’s not clear from this map reveal.
The most striking feature of the Hot Wheels expansion map, aside from the fact that it is floating in the air, is that it includes three different floating islands. Each island in this Forza Horizon 5 map seems to have its own creatures. The northern island is a lush green biome with forested areas, rivers and overall a multitude of plants. The southwestern island is rocky, covered in snow, with lava pits and possibly an active volcano. Finally, the southeastern island is a desert biome with semi-arid shrubs and canyons.

Spread across these three unique islands is an intricate network of orange track featured in the iconic Hot Wheels and blue rail connectors. It’s safe to assume that Playground has flexed its creativity to make the most of the limited Hot Wheels track sections.
The combination of the natural biome and the Hot Wheels track is a very interesting idea. Supposedly, players will be able to leave the Hot Wheels track and explore each island at will. On the other hand, only the natural biome that makes the background detail is interesting in its own right.
