Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End announced on Thursday that voice actress Mariya Ise will be joining the anime as Serie. The series’ official website describes her as a great magician with outstanding knowledge and power. Additionally, she has most types of magic and is the founder of the Continental Magic Association. The character will first appear in episode 21, scheduled to premiere on Friday, February 2.

Crunchyroll aired the series and described the story as follows: After the group of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to their lonely lives. Generations passed and the elven wizard Frieren faced the death of humanity. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill the dying wish of her old friends. Can the elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarked on a journey of understanding.
