GAM preparing to welcome new recruits? It's not necessarily the right deal

There is information that GAM is preparing to welcome new recruits

In the context of the 2025 season, which will see VCS merged into the APAC region according to an announcement from Riot, and right from this moment, Vietnamese League of Legends has witnessed many changes. However, information surrounding the GAM Esports team is still making waves. And according to some information being spread in the VCS community, GAM may be preparing to welcome a new recruit who is not unfamiliar to the audience here. That person is none other than Artemis – a player playing for Team Whales and is currently the mainstay of this team after Gloryy and BeanJ were banned from competing.

If this information becomes true, GAM will be able to perfect their ADC position even further. In the current VCS champion squad, there is EasyLove, a Gunner who specializes in weak wing play so that GAM can put resources into Emo, Kiaya, and Levi on the top wing. However, GAM also needs a Gunner who knows how to utilize resources and convert them into damage to “carry the team”. Artemis is exactly that type of Gunner.

Many opinions have pointed out that Neo is also the same type of ADC as Artemis, and even has experience competing in the LCS. But perhaps for many reasons, Neo was not used too much in the Summer and GAM's recent World Championship journey. Furthermore, GAM also “gave the green light” for Neo to look for new stops and perhaps Artemis was brought in (if any) to replace the position of this overseas Vietnamese player.

But is it really effective for GAM?

Perhaps it goes without saying that everyone understands that GAM's playing style revolves around the upper wing axis with Kiaya – Levi as the main player. This has happened since GAM began to determine its unshakable dominance over Vietnamese League of Legends. Even at Worlds 2024, when almost all big and small teams (T1, BLG, Gen.G, TES or even PSG Talon) compete with AD as the focus, GAM still revolves around Kiaya – Levi in when they have an ADC who can convert resources very well, Neo, in the squad.

It can be said that competing according to the above model is deeply ingrained in the subconscious of both GAM and the audience. Who will “dare” to let Kiaya play as a tanker or as a background player? Who will “dare” to put resources into Gunner when Slayder has shown how “fit” he is when entering the international playing field? The answer until now is still: no one “dare” to let Kiaya be the background.

Furthermore, in GAM currently there is Emo which is also a damage output. Thus, if you can recruit Artemis, GAM will have up to 3 damage outputs but clearly, the resources will not be enough. “Who will stand in the background and accept to step back?” will be a question that GAM's Board of Directors will be forced to find a satisfactory answer to.

Of course, it is possible that this deal can also be finalized. And the audience can only expect that Artemis, if she wears the VCS champion shirt, will not fall into the “wrong footsteps” of her “seniors” in the past.
