About 1.5 billion tweets about the game were posted on Twitter in the first half of 2022, according to a new announcement by Twitter.
According to the report, the number of tweets about gaming has increased by 36% compared to last year. Tweets skyrocketed thanks to major game releases like Elden Ring. E-sports events such as the Call of Duty League, Valorant Champions Tour and Professional Gamers League Counter-Strike: Global Offensive also boost the number of people talking about the game.
E3 implode and all the different events like Xbox Showcase, Playstation’s State of Play and Summer Game Fest also contributed to the sheer amount of tweets in the first half of this year. More events spread out means more conversations going on over a longer period of time.
Genshin Impact, the most talked about video game in 2021, remains at the top in the first half of 2022. Would you be surprised that Wordle took the number two spot. Although Wordle sold to the New York Times, the tweets about the game have decreased a lot, but the appeal of the product is still great.
