An image that is believed to belong to a new Lightning character from Fontaine has been revealed on the Reddit sub channel dedicated to aggregating rumors about the game.
Recently, in the community there has been a rumor about Genshin Impact that mentions the arrival of a new character that will be coming to the next main area that is expected to be Fontaine. According to the new post, Captain R has undergone some design changes, and many fans are suggesting that this could be the final version that will appear in the game. Many comments suggested that Captain R’s new look suggests she could be a Lightning character as her design is very similar to other playable characters using the same element.
When it comes to the character’s exact release date, there are no reliable sources yet, but players can expect her to join the roster after the new Fontaine region arrives. Previous rumors hinted that Fontaine would be very different from any other region in the game. Its main city will apparently be attached to a vertical platform and it will be surrounded by several waterfalls.

Fontaine is rumored to be located west of the current Liyue region and north of the recently launched Sumeru Desert. A reliable Genshin Impact leaker named merlin_impact claims that some existing regions of the game like Mondstadt will likely receive a significant expansion before Fontaine arrives.
One of the recently released holy relic fragments called Certificate of Praise has suggested that Liyue has another port besides Liyue Port leading many players to believe that it will appear in the next Liyue expansion. The new Di Lung Wharf is expected to be located to the west of Liyue, and it could connect the area with the country of Fontaine.
