The developer has revealed Baizhu and Kaveh as the game’s newest characters, with rumors suggesting a new desert expansion will launch with version 3.6.
While Genshin Impact probably won’t introduce any major details of version 3.6 until closer to launch, leaks have revealed various contents in the new update. Version 3.6 is expected to see Sumeru’s latest addition to the desert, which debuted in version 3.1 and expanded in version 3.4. The RPG’s next update has also seen content like new events and enemies leak, including Genshin Impact’s latest world boss. In addition to the new characters and content, a recent leak showed a secret scene being added in version 3.6.
A new video shared by the famous Genshin Impact leaker team Team China has shown the design of the game’s latest secret scene. This secret scene is speculated to be related to Baizhu’s legendary quest with the design of a dungeon similar in architecture to that of Liyue. Inside the mystery scene there are some mysterious crystals that glow with purple energy, potentially tied to Baizhu’s plot. The secret scene seems to end in a large open area with a platform in the back, containing various equipment.
Baizhu’s lore quest is just one of several new story additions planned for the version 3.6 update. Previous rumors have heavily suggested that the extended Aranara quest line included in the first updates of Sumeru will return in patch 3.6. The update will also introduce the previously mentioned expansion to the Sumeru desert, which is supposed to grow the area to a larger scale than both Mondstadt and Liyue combined. Each new area of Sumeru brings with it a series of main quests, including the “Golden Dream” of the first desert area and the “Song of Bilqis” in the second desert area.
