A former RWBY animator has created an impressive Genshin Impact video starring Yelan and Dehya, complete with eye-popping combat and full voice acting. The HoYoverse RPG has enjoyed massive success since its launch in September 2020 with many fans of the game enjoying its diverse and distinctive cast of characters. The game’s growing roster has seen plenty of fan creations for the game’s memorable characters, from stunning animations to artwork of characters like Faruzan. Now, an artist who worked on RWBY has created their own animated video for the HoYoFair of 2023.

Genshin Impact’s recent HoYoFair fan event saw a ton of creative and impressive work from the game’s most creative fans. The annual web event captures the attention of Genshin Impact fans, featuring animation and artwork with fans able to submit their own work to be featured during the event. The recent New Year’s edition of the fan event featured numerous animated videos featuring characters like Executive Fatui. Among the many attendees to the event was former RWBY animator, Dillon Gu, who submitted a cartoon reminiscent of the popular web series starring Yelan and Dehya.

RWBY animator Dillon Gu shared their Genshin Impact animation, titled “Nameless Road,” with Yelan and Dehya stealing a car from the Fatui organization. The footage showcases some intense fight scenes reminiscent of scenes from the author’s previous work, including Dehya riding on her weapon like a surfboard in the sand. The animation also has some references to Yelan’s in-game skills, which use her aiming focus animation to shoot out of a car window and reference her Rage Skill. The trailer also features full voice acting with Emma Breezy as Yelan and Diana Garnet as Dehya.
The funny and dramatic footage also has some smaller references to Genshin Impact strewn all over the place. The end of the animation reveals the car theft as part of a mission given to Yelan by Liyue’s Headquarters, bringing the keys back to Ningguang in the end of the video. Dehya’s past as a mercenary is also mentioned several times with Yelan apparently hiring her for this mission.

Yelan and Dehya’s lead roles in the trailer come as both characters are said to feature in Genshin Impact in the near future. Yelan has been leaked to be returning in a banner rerun in the upcoming 3.4 patch, her first rerun since her release in 2.7. Although Dehya is currently unplayable in Genshin Impact, she appears a lot in the story of the Sumeru region and is rumored to appear in patch 3.5. Dillon Gu’s footage comes at the perfect time for both Yelan and Dehya fans to get to see them both in Genshin Impact soon.
