Version 3.5 is approaching, along with a series of videos introducing Dehya as well as the stories behind her life.
Genshin Impact has officially revealed the trailer for the upcoming five-star character Dehya, who was confirmed in a recent livestream for update 3.5. Dehya won’t be the only new character appearing in the upcoming update as HoYoverse reveals a new Ice-type character named Mika.
According to HoYoverse’s usual update schedule, players can expect Genshin Impact version 3.5 to launch around March 1, which is when the current Hu Tao and Yelan banners expire. The livestream also confirmed that the next update will host the annual Windflower Festival, which means the Travelers will be able to return to Mondstadt, the first area introduced in the game.
The official Genshin Impact YouTube channel has revealed the character teaser for their upcoming five-star character Dehya. Though she’s been portrayed as a skillful fighter who shows no mercy to her enemies, the new teaser shows her side of the character in a much softer way. She belongs to the Eremite, a group of mercenaries from the deserts of Sumeru. The recent 3.5 patch livestream confirmed that Dehya will be a new DPS character that can fit a variety of team compositions.
Dehya’s Elemental Skill is called Melting Hell and it allows her to deal AoE damage while creating an area of Boiling Sanctuary. Enemies hit in this area take extra damage. The area effect will also increase the interrupt resistance of all active characters. In addition, Dehya will also be able to take a portion of damage to allies while standing in the area of The Eruption Sanctuary.

Devouring Fire Lion, Dehya’s Wrath Skill, will allow her to drop her weapons and switch to hand-to-hand combat. For a few seconds, each of her next basic attacks deals a large amount of Fire elemental damage in a small area. At the end of her time in this state, Dehya will launch an attack called Hot Kick that deals extra Fire elemental damage and moves the location of the Boiling Sanctuary.
Although the new five-star character seems like a DPS, some players chose to ignore her banner as HoYoverse has confirmed that Dehya will join the regular banner after 3.5 ends. Therefore, players can fully expect to rate her in the future if there is no condition to own Dehya in the upcoming 3.5 version.
