Series about manga artist, mysterious assistant coming out in 2020
Kodoani.com – June issue of Monthly Good! Afternoon published the final chapter of the manga A Galaxy Next Door (Otonari ni Ginga) by Gido Amagakure on Saturday. The magazine also revealed that they will publish the manga’s final chapter in the next issue on June 7.
Amagakure launched the manga on Good! Afternoon in April 2020. Kodansha published the manga’s first compiled book volume in November 2020, and will publish the manga’s sixth and final volume on July 6.
Since his parents passed away, manga artist Ichiro has barely made a living, forced to support his two younger brothers in middle school. He didn’t even have time to learn how to use a computer, which forced him to struggle with pen and paper. When his art assistants quit their jobs to succeed on their own, in addition to facing deadlines, family, and the constant fear of losing their jobs, Ichiro feels almost completely devastated. An anime adaptation of the manga premiered on TOKYO MX and BS11 channels on April 8.
The manga is also adapting a live-action film to premiere on April 3.
