New season launches with DLC character Johnny, new “Wild Assault/Deflect Shield” system, 2 battle stages
Kodoani.com – On Sunday at its panel during the fighting game tournament EVO, Arc System Works revealed many new details about fighting games “Guilty Gear -Strive-” and its third season version.
The third season ticket for the game “Guilty Gear -Strive-” is set to release on August 24. This Season Pass 3 will introduce four new DLC characters, starting with Johnny and “Wild”. The “Assault” and “Deflect Shield” systems, two new battle stages, are planned for a later release. A third color pack, balance adjustments, and new moves for the characters will also be added to this third season version.
The “Wild Assault” attack system is a powerful attack move with strong effects, and the “Deflect Shield” defense system will help create a large distance between the player and the opponent after making blocks. Both of these new systems along with the character Johnny will launch on the same day, which is on August 24th.
Additionally, a “Guilty Gear -Strive- Daredevil Edition” will also be released on August 24. This edition includes the main game, sequels 1 to 3, digital audio and artwork. . Guilty Gear 25th Anniversary and Special Color Editions will also be included in the Daredevil Edition.
Arc System Works also reported that “Guilty Gear -Strive-” has surpassed 2.5 million players worldwide.
The game “Guilty Gear -Strive-” was originally released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC in June 2021, after experiencing a delay from April 2021. Before that, Arc System Works had to delayed the game’s launch by the end of 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Daisuke Ishiwatari is the game’s general manager and Akira Katano is directing. The game’s initial lineup of characters includes Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, Potemkin, Faust, Millia Rage, Zato-1, Ramlethal, Leo Whitefang, Nagoriyuki, Giovanna, Anji, and I-NO.
In the game’s “Part 1” DLC, five characters, five color variations for each, two new battle stages and an additional story were introduced. The “Part 2” DLC contains a total of four playable DLC characters, two new battle stages, and a second color pack.
DLC characters include Goldlewis Dickinson (July 2021), Jack-O’ (August 2021), Happy Chaos (November 2021), Baiken (January 2022), Testament (March 2022) , Bridget (August 2022), Sin Kiske (November 2022) and Asuka R# (May 25).
