Kodoani.com – Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app just announced that the manga “Killer Vamp” (Chi to Hai no Joō) by Hajime Bako will take a break to prepare for the final story arc. Readers can look forward to the manga’s return on February 20.
Hajime Bako introduced the manga on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday manga website and on the Manga ONE app in December 2016. To date, Shogakukan has published 20 manga volumes, with the first volume released in May year 2017.
Comikey has chosen to publish this manga digitally and describes the content as follows:
“Don’t worry… You’re not dead yet.” Since the eruption of Mount Fuji, the night in Japan and this city have undergone a complete transformation. Those covered in volcanic ash from Mount Fuji became fighting vampires, possessing immense power as they killed each other and feasted on the blood of their fallen enemies.
Bako averted the manga’s cancellation in 2017 by urging readers to buy the first volume. His editor announced that if the first volume did not achieve at least 1,000 copies sold within a month before the release of the third volume, the series would be canceled after the fourth volume. Thanks to reader support, the first volume achieved about 1,000 copies sold, averting the threat of the manga’s cancellation.
“Killer Vamp” ranked 7th in the Web Manga category of the fourth “Next Manga Awards” (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō) in 2018.
